This was reported by the Command of the Airborne Assault Troops of Ukraine's Armed Forces, Espreso.West reports.

Fighters with the 80th Brigade shot down a Russian fighter with a Soviet anti-aircraft gun.

"The anti-aircraft gunners of the 80th Detached Airborne Assault Brigade of Ukraine's Armed Forces permanently landed a Russian Su-30 multi-purpose fighter. The pilot of the Russian invaders did not expect that the Lviv paratroopers would be able to shoot it down with a 23-mm anti-aircraft gun," the message reads.

For reference. The 80th Detached Airborne Assault Brigade is a military unit within the Airborne Assault Forces of Ukraine's Armed Forces. In the spring of 2014, it was among the first to be raised to repel Russian aggression, as the units were sent to the northeastern borders of Ukraine. Servicemen of the brigade took part in the first battle of the war in Donbas - on April 13, 2014 near Semenivka, later they took part in the battles for Slovyansk. Since 2016, the brigade has been reformed into an amphibious assault brigade and received a tank unit.
