This is reported by the military intelligence service of the UK Ministry of Defence.

"Russian soldiers serving in Ukraine are likely frustrated that they are forced to serve in old infantry combat vehicles which they describe as aluminium cans," the report said.

It is noted that in mid-October, during the offensive of Ukrainian troops, the losses of Russian armoured vehicles increased to over 40 pieces of equipment a day, approximately equal to the number of equipment of the battalion.

In recent weeks, Russia has probably resorted to purchasing at least 100 additional tanks and infantry fighting vehicles from warehouses in Belarus.

"Armored units and artillery are central to Russia's way of waging war; the armed forces in Ukraine are now struggling partially due to difficulties in supplying both artillery ammunition and sufficient serviceable replacements for armoured vehicles," the British intelligence service added.
