Lithuania to give Ukraine 36 anti-aircraft guns to help fight drones

Lithuanian Defense Minister Arvydas Anušauskas says that as part of the announced aid package, Ukraine will receive 36 anti-aircraft guns, which have been mastered by 15 instructors

He said this at a briefing with Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov, according to European Pravda.

The ministers noted that at the meeting they discussed further assistance that Lithuania could provide to Ukraine in accordance with its needs, from weapons to military training.

“We will hand over 36 anti-aircraft guns that will help us successfully fight drones... We have already trained 15 instructors and they have already returned to Ukraine,” Anušauskas said.

Oleksii Reznikov noted that training instructors rather than operators is a more practical approach, as these people will be able to pass on knowledge to more military personnel directly in Ukraine upon their return.

At the briefing, he did not mention the name of the systems, but it is obviously the Swedish L-70 anti-aircraft guns that Vilnius announced in the last aid package, without naming the exact number.
