Lithuania assesses its capabilities to counteract Wagner soldiers from Belarus

Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda said that his country has taken security measures due to the movement of Wagner PMC mercenaries to Belarus

He told journalists in Brussels, commenting on the movement of the Wagner convoy in Belarus, Delfi reports.

"Before the NATO summit, the State Defense Council decided to increase intelligence forces on the eastern border and approve a plan to cover the border. They are now sufficient. Undoubtedly, we will monitor the situation and, if decisions are needed, we will make them as soon as possible," Nausėda said.

The president noted that the deployment of Wagner fighters in Belarus changes the security situation in Lithuania. According to him, Belarus is a fairly small country, so it takes only a few hours to deploy mercenaries to the border with Lithuania.
