Liberation of Kherson will lead to the collapse of Putin's regime, so Putin is fighting for his vile life - Piontkovsky

Renowned political scientist Andriy Piontkovsky believes that Putin wants to stop the Ukrainian offensive by any and all means possible, and tens of millions of lives are nothing to him, which is why he grabbed the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant

He expressed his opinion on Espreso.

"In order to restrain Putin's nuclear ambitions, it is necessary to make him understand that he will personally die in the event of such a strike. As for tactical nuclear strikes with warheads, this has already been explained to Putin, which is why he grabbed the Zaporizhia NPP. And he does not care how many people will die. Because even the reaction of the Kremlin party and the propaganda apparatus to Ukraine's attack on Crimea convinces me once again that the liberation of Kherson will lead to the breakdown of Putin's system," the political scientist noted.

Andriy Piontkovskyi added that then the formula "a downed leader is not a leader" will prevail, and Putin will lose power, and with it his life, so he is now fighting for his own life.

"Putin needs to stop the Ukrainian offensive by all means, and for that, tens of millions of lives of Russians, Ukrainians, and Europeans are nothing to him. Now he is fighting for his vile life, because, having lost power, he will immediately lose his life. These are the stakes," - noted Piontkovskyi.

The political scientist concluded that it is necessary to introduce an international contingent to the Zaporizhzhya NPP territory, as well as to present Putin with an appropriate ultimatum to transfer the ZNPP to Ukrainian control.
