Level of social tension is growing in Russia - intelligence
The Main Intelligence Directorate says that social tensions are growing in the Russian Federation, particularly in its European part
This is reported by the Main Intelligence Directorate.
The deterioration of the social situation is reported by Russian officials and representatives of the special services themselves, including in closed reports to commanders.
"According to Ukrainian intelligence, the increase in protest activity of the Russian population is expressed by the growing dissatisfaction with the war against Ukraine," the statement reads.
According to the intelligence, there is also a deterioration in the crime situation inside Russia.
The rise in crime in the regions is caused by the loss of stable sources of income, difficulties in finding employment, and alcoholism among the Russian population.
High inflation and rising prices for consumer products also contribute to the growing social tension in Russia.
- The documents of the Russian Ministry of Finance, according to which in 2024 the Kremlin is going to spend 30% of total state budget expenditures on the war, indicate that Russia is preparing for a multi-year war against Ukraine.
