People's Deputy of Ukraine Mykola Kniazhytskyi noted that the state-owned television would be engaged in propaganda

He said this on the air of Espreso TV channel.

"The law on media is 80% excellent. We managed to make many changes and protect the Ukrainian language and culture. But there are negative provisions in the law. The existence of the channel Rada as state television is legalized. In Europe, there is no state television. There is commercial and public broadcasting. If the television belongs to the state, it will use propaganda for its own money. And people cannot be imposed propaganda inside the country, what to think and how to speak," explained Kniazhytskyi.

According to Kniazhytskyi, propaganda is possible only outside the country regarding foreign broadcasting.

"The law on media brings us back to Soviet times when we had state television "UT-1" or "Central Television", which broadcast from Moscow. We offered clear legal criteria, but we should have been listened to. It is important not only to adopt the law, but its implementation is also important. For example, the Espreso channel was turned off illegally without any reason. So were other TV channels like Pryamyi, Channel 5. It is possible to adopt good laws and then brazenly violate them and not punish the violators, thinking that we will join the EU in this way. No, it will be impossible. It needs to be changed," said Knyazhytskyi.
