Lavrov rejects ceasefire proposals at UN
On Saturday, September 23, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov claimed that Russia is ready for negotiations on Ukraine
The Russian state propaganda outlet RIA Novosti reported the information.
Sergey Lavrov made the statement at the UN General Assembly. According to the foreign minister, Russia is ready for negotiations on Ukraine, but will not consider any proposals for a ceasefire.
"Now, when we are told about negotiations, Putin commented on it. He said very clearly: yes, we are ready for negotiations. But we will not consider any ceasefire proposals. We have already considered it once, but you deceived us," says Lavrov.
The Russian foreign minister also claims that no one in the West seems to want to seriously show an understanding of the war in Ukraine.
"If they want to solve the issue on the battlefield, then it will be on the battlefield," said Sergey Lavrov.
