Latvia, Romania, among countries that advise their citizens to leave Russia as soon as possible
Latvia, Romania, Bulgaria, the US and Estonia have all urged their citizens to leave the Russian Federation urgently.
This is reported by the departments of the countries.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Latvia, Edgars Rinkevičs, called on Latvians to leave the Russian Federation "due to the aggravation of the international situation".
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania called on its citizens to refrain from non-urgent trips to Russia, and those who are already there to leave the country urgently.
In addition, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania insists that the citizens of the country do not participate in protests and demonstrations, as well as avoid mass gatherings of people.
The same recommendations are provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria.
The US Embassy in Russia emphasizes that it "has restrictions on assistance to citizens on the territory of the Russian Federation, including transportation", so you should leave Russia as soon as possible, as long as it is possible to do it on your own. The embassy also urges not to participate in political and social protests, as "the right to freedom of speech is not guaranteed in the Russian Federation."
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Estonia emphasizes that holders of dual citizenship - Estonian and Russian - are considered Russian citizens in the Russian Federation, so Estonia's ability to help is limited. In addition, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country insists that citizens should not visit the areas bordering Ukraine.
