Latvia hands over 271 cars confiscated from drunk drivers to Ukraine

Latvia sent cars confiscated from drunk drivers to Ukraine. The total cost of the vehicles was almost a million euros

Delfi reports that in February this year, the Latvian Saeima adopted amendments to the legislation allowing the transfer of vehicles to assist Ukraine. 

Since these amendments came into force, the government has made several decisions to transfer cars to Ukraine. In particular, those confiscated from drivers who drove under the influence of alcohol.

The Latvian government is already preparing to donate another 34 vehicles to Ukraine, worth almost €162,000.
