"Moscow is interested in dragging out the war in Israel in order to shift attention from Ukraine to the Middle East. If Israel wins quickly and resolves the issue with Hamas, it will then take on Iran. Moscow will have other problems. Iran is supplying Shahed drones, shells, and many other things. If nuclear infrastructure facilities and centrifuges are bombed, plants may also be affected, and this will help Ukraine a lot. Ukrainians will stop being killed by these Shahed drones. Moscow is well aware that the Palestinian-Israeli issue is the most sensitive one," the Russian opposition politician said.
Mark Feygin noted that it is not in Moscow's interest for Israel to quickly defeat Hamas. The Russians are trying to solve their problems in Eastern Europe with a war they will not win in order to encourage the world to negotiate over Ukraine.
"The Russians want negotiations to get the occupied territories back. And then solve the problem in the Middle East together. Moscow says it is ready to deal with Israeli hostages, and to contribute to the creation of a Palestinian state, to participate in negotiations between the parties. This is what all this is about. Moscow does not want Israel to quickly deal with Hamas now, because the problem will disappear, and everything will switch back to Ukraine, and even more fiercely, because Israel will support Ukraine more resolutely," Feygin explained.
