Kremlin fears Lukashenko will seize the opportunity to return to multi-vector policy - Belarusian expert Alesin
Independent military observer, leading Belarusian expert on defense and the military-industrial complex Alexander Alesin believes that Lavrov has brought Lukashenko additional ropes to tie Belarus to Russia
He said this on the air of the Espreso TV channel.
"Despite the fact that Belarus's dependence on Russia has increased dramatically in the economic, political and military sense, the Kremlin apparently fears that Lukashenko may somehow return to his multi-vector policy at a convenient moment," Alesin said.
According to the expert, Russia is trying to fully control Lukashenko and Belarus.
"Ambassadors of a number of neutral states are in Minsk to study the circumstances in order to try to show Lukashenko the possibility of returning to the previous relations. And this is not what Russia wants at all, it wants to take full control of Belarus," Alesin added.
