Kremlin comments on cancelled ministerial-level peace talks on Ukraine in London
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the foreign ministers' meeting in London was canceled as "positions on some issues couldn't be reconciled”
Mayak radio, cited by European Pravda, reported remarks from Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov regarding the postponed foreign ministers' talks on the war in Ukraine, which were scheduled to take place in London.
"As far as we understand, some positions couldn't be brought closer, so the meeting did not take place," Peskov said.
He added that Russia continues its contacts with the Americans.
"We have no contacts with the Europeans or Ukrainians. However, President Putin remains open to such contacts in the interest of a settlement," he noted.
Peskov also responded to a question about whether Trump’s special envoy, Steve Witkoff, would visit Russia this week.
"If that happens, we’ll inform you. For now, I can't say anything concrete on the matter. The situation is quite dynamic. Things change very quickly. We’ll keep you updated as things unfold," he said.
