Kreminna is the most difficult direction now - Haidai on Russian forces' attempts to push Ukrainian defense

The head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration, Serhiy Haidai, said this on the air of the telethon.

“The situation in the Kreminna sector is the most difficult today. There is the most shelling and attacks there, they are trying to push our defense somewhere. The situation in the Svatove direction is equally turbulent, but our positions in Svatove are more stable and we manage to bring in heavy equipment there every day. Recently, our guys burned down three armored personnel carriers in one evening,” Haidai noted. 

In addition, he said, there is constant shelling in all directions. However, the enemy's tactics differ due to differences in the landscape. Thus, in the Svatove directions, Russians are using armored vehicles with infantry between them. The vehicles are trying to get as close to Ukrainian positions as possible so that infantry can enter the positions under their cover. However, the wooded area of Kreminna does not allow this to happen.

Haidai also added that the situation on all fronts is difficult, but fully controlled by the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

• In the morning, the Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff reported that a new group of Iranian instructors on launching drones had arrived in occupied Luhansk.

• On February 17, the head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration, Serhiy Haidai, claimed that all efforts of the Russian army in the region are now focused on the Kreminna direction.
