Russia loses 7 tanks, 13 artillery systems, 800 soldiers per day - General Staff

The total combat losses of the Russian Federation from 24.02.22 to 06.01.24 are estimated at:

• personnel - about 363,870 (+800) people

62 combat clashes took place at the front over the day, Russian troops made unsuccessful assaults in 6 directions

Thus, according to Ukraine's General Staff, the operational situation has not changed in the area of the northern Ukrainian border with Belarus.

In the northeastern border area, the Russian army maintains a military presence in the border areas, conducts active sabotage activities to prevent the deployment of Ukrainian troops to threatened areas, and increases the density of minefields along the state border in the Belgorod region.

In the Kupyansk direction, Ukrainian army repelled 7 Russian attacks near the village of Synkivka, Kharkiv region.

In the Lyman direction, the Russian troops did not conduct offensive (assault) actions.

In the Bakhmut direction, Ukraine's soldiers repulsed three hostile attacks near Klishchiivka and Andriivka in the Donetsk region.

In the Avdiivka direction, Ukrainian defenders continue to hold back the Russian enemy, who keeps trying to surround Avdiivka. Ukrainian troops are steadfastly holding the line, inflicting significant losses on the Russian forces. Thus, Ukraine's Defense Forces repelled four attacks in the areas of Novobakhmutivka and Avdiivka and another 17 attacks near Pervomaiske and Nevelske in the Donetsk region over the past day.

In the Marinka direction, Ukraine's defenders continue to hold back the invaders near Marinka, Pobieda and Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region, where they repulsed 15 attacks.

In the Shakhtarsk direction, Russia did not conduct offensive (assault) actions.

In the Zaporizhzhia direction, Ukrainian troops repelled another Russian attack near Robotyne, Zaporizhzhia region.

In the Kherson direction, the Defense Forces continue to expand their foothold. Despite significant losses, the Russian army keeps trying to drive Ukrainian units out of their positions. In particular, over the past day, Russia carried out 13 unsuccessful assault operations.

At the same time, Ukrainian soldiers continue to inflict losses in manpower and equipment on the occupation forces, depleting the Russian enemy along the entire front line.

Russia launches 2 Shahed drones at Ukraine: air defense shoots them down

In total, the Russian Federation launched 5 missile and 25 air strikes, fired 32 times from multiple launch rocket systems at the positions of Ukrainian troops and populated areas. Unfortunately, Russian terrorist attacks have resulted in deaths and injuries among the civilian population. Residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.

At night, the Russian troops conducted another airstrike using 2 Shahed-136/131 UAVs. All hostile drones were destroyed.

One settlement in the Donetsk region, one in the Zaporizhzhia region, and two in the Kherson region were hit by air strikes.

More than 100 settlements in the Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipro, Kherson and Mykolaiv regions came under artillery fire.

Ukrainian Armed Forces hit 9 Russian troops' concentration points

Over the past day, the aviation of Ukraine's Defense Forces struck 5 areas of personnel concentration and 1 Russian control point.

Missile troops hit 2 control points, 4 areas of personnel, weapons and military equipment concentration, an ammunition depot and a Russian artillery unit.

• On the night of January 6, Russian troops attacked the town of Pokrovsk in Donetsk region twice. An administrative building was hit, a fire broke out and people were injured.
