Russian army loses 14 tanks, 47 artillery systems, 960 troops per day - Ukraine's General Staff

Over the last day, 82 combat clashes took place in the frontline. Ukrainian defenders repelled a number of Russian attacks, most of them in the Avdiivka and Novopavlivka sectors, and eliminated another 960 soldiers

The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported this.

Total combat losses of the Russian Federation from February 24, 22 to March 2, 24 are estimated to be:

  • personnel - about 415,640 (+960) people,
  • tanks - 6,624 (+14) 
  • armored combat vehicles - 12,611 (+29) 
  • artillery systems - 10,153 (+47) 
  • MLRS - 1,003 (+3) 
  • air defense systems - 696 (+5) 
  • aircraft - 346 (+1) 
  • helicopters - 325 (+0) 
  • operational and tactical level UAVs - 7,829 (+35)
  • cruise missiles - 1,915 (+3) 
  • ships/boats - 25 (+0) 
  • submarines - 1 (+0) 
  • motor vehicles and fuel tankers - 13,267 (+61) 
  • special equipment - 1,617 (+6).

Situation at the front: 82 combat clashes took place over the last day, Ukraine's Armed Forces repelled most of Russia's attacks in the Novopavlivka sector

Thus, according to the General Staff, the operational situation has not changed in the area of the northern Ukrainian border with Belarus.

In the northeastern border area, the Russian army maintains a military presence in the border areas, conducts active sabotage activities to prevent the deployment of Ukrainian troops to threatened areas, and increases the density of minefields along the state border in the Belgorod region.

In the area of responsibility of the Khortytsia operational-strategic group in the Kupyansk direction, Russian troops did not conduct offensive (assault) actions.

In the Lyman direction, Ukraine's troops repelled 14 Russian attacks near Terny, Yampolivka, Rozdolivka in Donetsk region and Bilohorivka in Luhansk region.

In the Bakhmut direction, Ukrainian defense forces repelled 8 hostile attacks in the vicinity of Bohdanivka, Ivanivske and Andriivka in the Donetsk region.

In the Avdiivka direction, in the area of responsibility of the Tavria operational-strategic group, Ukrainian defenders repelled 24 attacks in the areas of 5 settlements.

In the Novopavlivka direction, Ukraine's defense forces are holding back the Russian troops in the areas of 5 localities in Donetsk region, where they tried to break through the defense of Ukrainian army 29 times.

The Russian occupation forces did not conduct any offensive (assault) actions in the Orikhiv direction.

In the area of responsibility of the Odesa operational-strategic group in the Kherson direction, the Defense Forces keep holding their positions. The Russian army did not conduct offensive (assault) actions.

At the same time, Ukrainian soldiers continue to inflict losses in manpower and equipment on the occupation forces, depleting the Russian enemy along the entire front line.

Russia attacks Ukraine with drones, missiles and aircraft: Ukrainian army hits 3 Russian control points

In total, the armed forces of the Russian Federation launched 9 missile and 100 air strikes, fired 161 times from multiple launch rocket systems at the positions of Ukrainian troops and populated areas.

At night, the Russian occupation troops attacked Ukraine once again, using 17 Shahed UAVs. The Ukrainian air defense forces destroyed 14 attack UAVs.

Russian army launched airstrikes on almost 30 towns and villages.

More than 140 settlements in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipro, Kherson and Mykolaiv regions were under artillery fire.

During the day, the aviation of the Ukrainian defense forces struck at 13 areas of Russian personnel concentration.

Missile units struck 1 area of Russian military equipment, 3 artillery units, 3 control points and 3 ammunition depots.

  • On the night of March 2, the Russians launched Shahed drones to strike Ukraine, resulting in hits in Kharkiv and Odesa, with deaths and injuries.
