Kharkiv woman gets 15 years behind bars for treason

In the Kharkiv region's Chuhiv district, a woman, found guilty of high treason, has been sentenced to 15 years in prison, and her property has been confiscated. She was found to have been actively passing Russian forces information about the location of Ukrainian military and equipment.

This was reported by the press service of the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office on Telegram.

According to the prosecutor's office, on July 27, the Zmiiv district court of the Kharkiv region sentenced a 39-year-old resident of the village of  Vysochynivka of the Chuhuiv District for treason committed under martial law (Article 111, Part 2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

"Prosecutors proved in court that since the beginning of the Russian invasion, the woman systematically searched and collected information about the deployment of Ukrainian military and equipment in the Chuhuiv district of the Kharkiv region. The convicted person transmitted the specified information through social networks, in particular those prohibited in Ukraine, to representatives of the aggressor country and illegal armed formations of the so-called "DPR" and "LPR", it is noted. 

The woman was sentenced to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property. There is currently an appeal period.
