Russian troops might advance toward Zolochiv in Kharkiv region - head of military administration
The Russian army may launch an offensive in the Zolochiv direction in the Kharkiv region to involve as many Ukrainian troops as possible in the defense of the north of the region
This was announced by Oleh Syniehubov, the head of the Kharkiv region military administration, during a press conference on May 29, Ukrinform reports.
The head of military administration emphasized that there is no Russian attack force near the Zolochiv community.
“We have the same information as on the Lyptsi and Vovchansk directions: that the enemy has chosen this direction as a promising one in order to use the maximum number of our troops in deterring the enemy in the north of Kharkiv region,” said Syniehubov.
He added that the Russian army is bringing in reserves to these areas.
“They can also redirect these reserves to the Zolochiv direction during the day and so on. Therefore, of course, we can talk about it, and we must be prepared to implement evacuation plans from those settlements,” emphasized the head of military administration.
According to Syniehubov, if the situation escalates in the Zolochiv sector, about 1,500 people will need to be evacuated first.
“This will be the first stage, the first wave. We have reserved places in Kharkiv for this evacuation. We have all the resources available to organize the evacuation of people,” explained Syniehubov.
