ISW names destinations for Russian military personnel who left Kherson
Russian forces are transferring military personnel who left the right bank of the Dnipro River in the Kherson region to the Donbas and the Zaporizhzhia region
The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) reported this.
US analysts draw attention to the fact that Russian troops are beginning to strengthen their positions in the occupied Luhansk, Donetsk, and eastern Zaporizhzhia regions with personnel from the Kherson region and mobilized military personnel.
In particular, the Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff reported an increase in the number of Russian troops in Luhansk and noted that they are stationed in abandoned buildings in Krasne and Simeikyne, 30 km from Luhansk.
The head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration, Serhii Haidai, said that the Russians are transferring the remnants of the paratroopers from the right bank of the Dnipro River in the Kherson region to the Luhansk one. Some of them arrive in Novoaidar, which is 55 km from Severodonetsk.
And the adviser to the mayor of Mariupol, Petro Andriushchenko, told about the arrival of 10,000-15,000 redeployed military personnel and equipment to the city. He added that they are probably spilling over Mariupol to the west of the Donetsk region.
In addition, Russian troops are trying to disperse forces by deploying separate units in the direction of Huliaipole in the east of the Zaporizhzhia region. Also, the Russian Federation plans to transfer mobilized personnel from the 2nd Motorized Rifle Division of the 1st Tank Army, who have completed their training in the Brest region of Belarus, to the occupied territories of Ukraine.
“Russian forces will likely continue to use mobilized and redeployed servicemen to reignite offensive operations in Donetsk Oblast and maintain defensive positions in Luhansk Oblast,” UK intelligence came to a conclusion.
