A joint statement from the Prime Minister's Office and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that amid a rise in anti-Semitic attacks around the world, Israeli citizens should take additional precautions when travelling abroad, including avoiding external manifestations of their Jewish or Israeli identity.
Israeli embassies, airports receiving flights from Israel, as well as Jewish communities and religious institutions abroad "are a major target of antisemitic protest events and attempted attacks," the statement said.
Israelis are urged not to travel to neighbouring countries and countries bordering Iran.
On Sunday, 29 October, several thousand people protested against the plane with Israelis at the airport in Makhachkala, the capital of Dagestan. The protesters chant slogans in support of Palestine.
