Ukraine delivers 1,000 tons of wheat flour to Gaza
Ukraine has shipped 1,000 tons of wheat flour to the Gaza Strip as part of the Grain from Ukraine program. This is the first of three consignments to be delivered by Ukraine to Palestine
This was announced by the Head of Ukraine's Presidential Office, Andriy Yermak.
“A vessel with 1,000 tons of wheat flour for Palestine arrived from Turkey to Jordan as part of the Grain from Ukraine program and has already been delivered to the Gaza Strip,” Yermak wrote.
The shipment was the first delivery to Palestine under the initiative. In total, Ukraine plans to deliver over 7,000 tons of wheat flour to Gaza with the support of donors, including Norway, Austria, Estonia, France and Iceland.
Yermak added that the shipment will provide food aid to more than 100,000 families caught in the middle of the conflict between Israel and Hamas.
For reference. Grain from Ukraine is a humanitarian food program launched by the President of Ukraine on November 26, 2022. The program aims to help overcome the humanitarian and economic consequences of the global food crisis caused by the Russian-Ukrainian war.
