Iran and DPRK, which have already transferred weapons and ammunition to Russia for attacks on Ukraine, continue to consider the possibility of new supplies, in violation of UN Security Council’s resolution

US Representative to the United Nations, Linda Thomas-Greenfield, stated during the UN Security Council meeting that people in Ukraine are suffering and dying as a result of Iran’s military support to Russia.

“We believe Iran is now considering the sale of hundreds of ballistic missiles to Russia and also in violation of Council resolutions. We urge Iran to reverse course and not to take these steps. And we urge everyone who supports peace to ask Iran to do the same," Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield said.

She added that North Korea publicly states that it does not provide support to Russia. However, this country delivered weapons to the Wagner PMC, which is a direct violation of another UN Security Council resolution.

"Last month, DPRK delivered infantry rockets and missiles into Russia for use by Wagner. And we are concerned that the DPRK is planning to deliver more military equipment to Wagner," the US representative added.

She emphasized that the United States condemns DPRK actions and calls on Pyongyang to abandon these supplies and comply with the UN Security Council resolution. Ambassador also appealed to the members of the Security Council to support the US on this issue.
