Invading Russian forces form assault units from Donetsk residents while Russians refuse to go on offensive – General Staff

The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff reported this. 

It is noted that because of this, mobilized men from the temporarily occupied territories of the Donetsk region are removed from the second and third lines and sent to training grounds. There, they are trained for two weeks and formed into assault units for offensive operations in the Avdiivka direction. 

Due to a significant number of sanitary losses among the invading forces, the maternity hospital in temporarily occupied Luhansk is used to treat wounded Russian soldiers. In addition, the premises of Children's Hospital №3 have also been converted into a military hospital.

Russian enemy launched 2 missile strikes, 16 airstrikes and over 15 MLRS attacks

“The enemy launched 2 missile strikes, 16 airstrikes and over 15 attacks with multiple launch rocket systems over the past day. The risk of strikes by the Russian Federation remains high across Ukraine,” the report says. 

The Russian Federation continued shelling the entire line of contact: 2 settlements in the Sumy region and 2 more in the Kharkiv region were attacked.

In the Kupiansk and Lyman directions, the Russian enemy fired from tanks, mortars and artillery at the areas of 17 settlements. 

In the Bakhmut direction, 7 settlements of the Donetsk region were subjected to Russian mortar and artillery fire.

In the Avdiivka and Vuhledar directions, 18 settlements of the Donetsk region came under Russian tank, mortar and artillery fire. 

In the Zaporizhzhia direction, 12 settlements were attacked. 

In the Kherson direction, the city of Kherson came under Russian mortar and artillery fire again.

Ukrainian aviation launched 14 strikes on the Russian forces' military positions

“During the day, the Defense Forces' aviation launched 14 strikes on the Russian troops' military positions. Ukrainian missile and artillery units hit 3 areas of manpower and an enemy electronic warfare station,” the report says.
