This was announced by the head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, Dmytro Zhyvytskyi.
"From 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., more than 220 shells and mines flew into the border region from the Russian side. The territories of Myropillya, Bilopollya, Krasnopillya communities of the Sumy region were under fire. The Russians also hit the Znob-Novhorodske and Novoslobidske communities", he said.
In one of the villages of the Bilopollya community, the entire infrastructure of the village was completely damaged. About fifty mines landed on the territory. The fires broke out in the buildings of the college, school, kindergarten, and post office. Private houses were damaged. Previously, there were no casualties.
"As a result of the shelling of the Novoslobidske community, two people were wounded - a mine flew directly into their house. Private houses and farm buildings were also damaged in the village. Livestock were injured", Zhyvytskyi added.
