International Criminal Court will open office in Kyiv: memorandum signed
On March 23, the Ukrainian government and the court in The Hague signed a memorandum on opening the International Criminal Court's office in Kyiv

“The decision to open this office was made on March 3, and today we signed the relevant international document. This means that the team of Prosecutor Karim Khan will be able to work in Ukraine in more stable conditions. And this will allow them not only to stay in Ukraine for a longer period of time, but also to have a proper office that will be protected in all possible dimensions, including appropriate information protection. This will allow Prosecutor Khan's team to work more intensively and more effectively in Ukraine to investigate war crimes committed by the Russian Federation,” Ukraine's Prosecutor General Andrii Kostin said.
He clarified that the ICC office will be opened in Kyiv.
The Prosecutor General also called the decision to issue an arrest warrant for Russian President Putin 'historic.'
- On March 17, the International Criminal Court in The Hague issued an arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin. In response, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev threatened to launch a missile strike on the court in The Hague.
