Ukraine's Defence Intelligence confirms two Russian fast landing boats were hit in Crimea
In the village of Chornomorske in the temporarily occupied Crimea, 2 Russian fast landing boats were hit. The Russians claim that Ukrainian drones allegedly attacked Crimea and Russia's Tula region on the night of November 10
Ukraine’s Defence Intelligence confirmed that as a result of a night operation in the temporarily occupied Crimea, the military hit a small landing craft of the Russian Black Sea Fleet. The agency noted that these were boats of the 11770 project (Serna class) and added that the ships were crewed and loaded with armored vehicles, including BTR-82.
"The aggressor state of Russia actively used small Serna class landing boats during the occupation of Snake Island to transfer military equipment and troops," the statement reads.
In addition, the Russians deployed Tor-M2 anti-aircraft missile systems on the boats to provide mobile cover for their group on the island and in the Black Sea.
The Defence Intelligence explains that the small landing craft of the Serna class has a high speed, and can carry up to 45 tons of cargo and 92 armed personnel. The invaders use these boats to land leading marine groups or evacuate them. In addition, in the context of the Russians' actual lack of shipboard air defense capabilities after a series of attacks by the Security and Defence Forces of Ukraine, such boats with air defense systems on board served as cover for the invaders to cover the Russian Federation's ships on raids.
A representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, Andriy Yusov, clarified to Radio Liberty that the boats that damaged the Ukrainian forces were new models of Russian equipment.
"The boats were used to transport various important equipment. And now they will not fulfill this function. These are new models of boats. Relatively new Russian equipment and the damage to these boats, of course, poses serious problems for the enemy, given all the previous losses of the Russian Black Sea Fleet," the GUR representative noted.
The Crimean Wind Telegram channel writes that rescuers in Chornomorsk are removing the rubble of the barracks after the hit.
"And divers started working in the sea. It seems that the boats were also hit," the report says.
At the same time, Russia accuses Ukraine of allegedly attacking targets in Crimea and Tula region with aircraft-type UAVs.
The Russian Defence Ministry says that its air defense system shot down two Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles that it intercepted over the territory of temporarily occupied Crimea.
Another allegedly Ukrainian drone was destroyed by Russian air defense over the territory of the Tula region, the Russian Defence Ministry writes.
