He told about this on the air of the Espreso TV channel
"Ukrainians began to take the place of Russians in the eyes of the Germans. In Germany and other Western countries, emotional support is definitely on the side of Ukraine. This is reflected in various initiatives from German civil society. In Germany, there is also a lot of support for state policy towards Ukraine," Umland said.
The analyst emphasized that pro-Russian views in Germany are decreasing a lot.
"Now in Germany, they have already started to be very skeptical about Russia. Because the Germans see what the Russians are doing in Ukraine. Germans are often shocked by the atrocities of the Russians in Ukraine. That is why Russia has lost its influence on the Germans," he added.
