In Kyiv, hundreds of people came to mourn fallen Hero of Ukraine Dmytro Kotsiubaylo

On Friday, March 10, hundreds of people came to say farewell to the fallen Hero of Ukraine Dmytro Kotsiubaylo, known as Da Vinci. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Finnish Prime Minister Sanna Marin also paid tribute to the hero.

A funeral service for the Hero of Ukraine Dmytro Kotsiubailo, who died in the war with Russia, has begun at St. Michael's Cathedral in Kyiv.

At 1:15 p.m., Da Vinci's funeral service will be held on Independence Square.

Finnish Prime Minister Sanna Marin has arrived in Kyiv, and together with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, they attended the funeral of the fallen Hero of Ukraine Dmytro Kotsiubailo

For reference. Dmytro Kotsiubailo was born on November 1, 1995 in the village of Zadnistrianske, Ivano-Frankivsk region. The man took part in the Revolution of Dignity.

He was a participant in the Russian-Ukrainian war, in particular, a platoon commander of volunteers (2014) and a company (2015). In 2014, he was seriously injured in Pisky, Donetsk region: a shell fragment hit his face, tearing his lip and knocking out a tooth. Another fragment damaged his ribs and broke his collarbone, where doctors had to install a fixation plate. After 3 months of recovery, he returned to the front.

He took part in the liberation of Karlivka, Pisky, Avdiivka, as well as in the battles of Stepanivka, Savur-Mohyla, Starohnativka. On March 17, 2016, he was appointed commander of the Da Vinci Wolves, the 1st separate assault company of the Ukrainian Air Force, later reformatted into a battalion.

On March 7, 2023, President Zelenskyy announced Da Vinci's death - on March 7, the soldier was fatally wounded near Bakhmut. The president called Dmytro Kotsiubailo a "human symbol" and "man of courage."
