If Russian army receives hellish, painful defeat at Liman, it will no longer be able to advance anywhere - military expert Kirichevsky

He said this on the air of the Espreso TV channel.

"The logistics arteries of the occupiers in the Liman area are under our fire control, which is sufficient to accelerate the process of operational encirclement of the enemy. If the enemy's defenses near the Liman crumble, as was the case near Balaklia and Kupyansk, then we will face a repeat of the scenario that in Kharkiv Oblast was called  "Regrouping to another territory occupied by the Russians". That is, if the Russians do not maintain their defense near the Liman, then they will start a cascade collapse again," the military expert said.

Ivan Kyrychevskyi added that the Armed Forces of Ukraine will again face two challenges: to catch up with the Russian soldiers, who will be fleeing rapidly, or to advance just to the extent to prevent the stretching of their communications.

"If we look at the situation from a strategic perspective, then, as some experts say, the events in the Kherson region and in the East are two components of one whole, namely, the strategic operation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to finally take the initiative into their own hands, respectively, and consolidate it. That is, the Armed Forces of Ukraine  are trying to do everything possible so that the Russians lose the initiative and the only thing that the enemy can do is to retreat with high losses. Thus, in the strategic picture, the battle for Liman looks like an important psychological point that should open up new victories for us. If the Russian occupiers get  a hellish and painful defeat near Lyman, then they won't be able to advance anywhere, because they will finally break," Kyrychevsky concluded.
