If Russia launches large-scale air attack on Ukraine, most aircraft will be destroyed immediately - military expert Selezniov

He expressed his opinion on Espreso TV. 

“Russia is amassing aircraft near our borders with one goal in mind - they need air superiority. Because they need to destroy not only the heroic Bakhmut and Vuhledar, but the rest of Ukraine. So it is obvious that they are working on this case and will continue to work on it. However, our Defense Forces are fully prepared for various scenarios,” Selezniov explained. 

The military expert noted that Ukraine's air defense system works quite effectively against any air targets.

“Ukraine's Defense Forces are ready to destroy any enemy who dares to invade our territory. And although the aviation component of the Russian army has a total advantage over ours, they will not have an easy ride in our skies. Our air defense system, which the Russians have already 'destroyed' three times, is working and very effective. That is why, if Russia tries to launch a large-scale air attack on the territory of Ukraine, most of their aircraft will be destroyed very quickly,” he added.

• On February 18, the Ukrainian Air Force responded to information about Russia's amassing of aircraft near the border with Ukraine, noting that Ukraine's air defense system is much more advanced than a year ago.
