If Israel does not stop deporting Ukrainians, Ukraine to impose retaliatory sanctions
The Embassy of Ukraine in Israel has emphasized that if the deportation of Ukrainians from Israel does not stop, Israelis will be banned from entering Uman, the city that serves as a pilgrimage destination for Hasidic Jews
They made this statement on Facebook.
"If the deportation of the Ukrainians from Israel does not stop, the entry of Israelis to Uman will be banned. Ukraine is to halt visa wavering agreement with Israel," the statement reads.
Ambassador of Ukraine Yevhen Korniychuk calls on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to reconsider the entry policy towards Ukrainians and intervene in this matter.
Instead, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has previously noted that the Ukrainian government will not tolerate the humiliation of its citizens when entering Israel, "The government of Ukraine will not tolerate humiliation of its citizens while entering Israel. We will halt our bilateral visa waivering agreements as its stipulated by Article 7 of the intergovernmental agreement. This option is on the table of our government."
