IAEA sends permanent missions to all Ukrainian NPPs

The International Atomic Energy Agency is going to send permanent missions to all Ukrainian nuclear power plants soon.

This was reported by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal on Telegram.

"Demilitarization of Zaporizhzhia NPP is point No.1 of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's peace plan. This issue was discussed with the head of the IAEA during a meeting in Paris," the statement reads.

Shmyhal claims Rafael Grossi said that soon the IAEA would send permanent technical missions to all nuclear power plants in Ukraine. The organization’s independent experts will work at Zaporizhzhia, Rivne, Khmelnytskyi, South Ukrainian, and Chornobyl NPPs. This will significantly increase technical and technological safety.

"The missions are aimed at securing the stations and recording all possible attempts of external influence, particularly shelling by the Russian aggressor. We have discussed the steps necessary for the demilitarization of the Zaporizhzhia NPP. I stressed the need to stop Russia's illegal actions against the Ukrainian station soon," Shmyhal said.
