Humanitarian disaster in Kherson region - Regional Council Deputy Chairman

Russian forces have destroyed business in the Kherson region. There is a lack of funds in the region, and Russian goods are expensive

Yurii Sobolevskyi, the 1st Deputy Chairman of the Kherson Regional Council, shared the details with Espreso TV.

"Actually, there is a state of humanitarian disaster there. The Kherson region is agrarian, and due to this, the products produced in the region are available to people. The prices for these products are very democratic, because there are a large number of farmers who refuse to give these products to Crimea and they are focused on the internal market", he said.

According to Sobolevskyi, all products imported from the Russia-occupied Crimea are very expensive.

"Everything that is imported through Crimea - the prices are exorbitant, the assortment is very poor, and this is in large cities such as Kherson and Nova Kakhovka. In small settlements, it is even more difficult - people are forced to go to the cities. The main problem is the lack of money. Business, in fact, is destroyed - some still work, but they are on the verge of survival. In addition, entrepreneurs need to either close or obtain Russian citizenship, re-register their business, and only after that they will be able to work", the official concluded.
