Yuliya Svyrydenko, the head of the Ministry of Economy, reported this.
"Even in the winter, when weather conditions are less than ideal for fieldwork, we are surveying 3,000 to 5,000 hectares of agricultural land every week. Out of the planned 470,000 hectares for surveying, we have already prioritized and cleared over 200,000 hectares for farmers to use."
Svyrydenko emphasized that the ongoing effort aims to make up to 80% of the country's potentially contaminated territories safe for use.
According to data, as of December 15, approximately 268,600 hectares of agricultural land have been surveyed, with about 205,000 hectares returned to operation. Last week alone, over 5,000 hectares were surveyed, predominantly in the Kherson region.
- Notably, by October 31, nearly 178,000 hectares of agricultural land had been reclaimed for use in Ukraine, surpassing the initial goal of returning 165,000 hectares to farmers by the year's end.
