Hospitals are overflowing with wounded Russian soldiers in Berdiansk, enemy forces create new ones - General Staff

Hospitals in Berdiansk, Zaporizhzhia region, are overcrowded due to the Russian forces' heavy losses, so they have built three more military hospitals in a week

The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff reported this on January 10.

It is also noted that the Russian enemy continues mobilizing troops to maintain the offensive and replenish manpower losses.

During the day, Ukrainian aviation launched 14 strikes on Russian military positions and 4 strikes on enemy air defense systems

The Ukrainian Armed Forces' aviation launched 14 strikes on the concentration of Russian personnel, weapons and military equipment, as well as 4 strikes on the positions of anti-aircraft missile systems.

Throughout the day, units of missile forces and artillery destroyed 2 Russian control points, 2 positions of missile forces and artillery, and 5 areas of the enemy's manpower and military equipment.

During the day, invading Russian forces launched 2 missile strikes and 7 MLRS attacks

The strikes hit the civil infrastructure of the Donetsk and Kherson regions.

The situation in different areas is as follows:

  • In the northeastern Ukrainian border in the Chernihiv, Sumy and Kharkiv regions, the areas of Sinkivka and Pokrovka, Dvorichna and 12 other settlements were shelled. 

  • In the Kupiansk direction, the Russian enemy fired from tanks and the entire range of artillery in the areas of the settlements of Orlianka, Kislivka, Novoselivske, and Stelmakhivka. 

  • In the Lyman direction, the areas of the Makiivka, Nevske, Chervonopopivka, Terny, and Serebrianka settlements were shelled by tanks, mortars, barrel and jet artillery.

  • In the Bakhmut direction of the Donetsk region, the enemy fired tanks and various types of artillery at the Ukrainian troops' positions in the areas of the settlements of Bilohorivka, Bakhmut, Klishchiivka, Bila Hora, Druzhba, and Paraskoviivka.

  • In the Avdiivka direction of the Donetsk region, the enemy fired tanks, mortars, barrel and jet artillery in the areas of Avdiivka, Vesele, Nevelske, Heorhiivka, and Mariinka settlements. 

  • In the Vuhledar direction of the Donetsk region, the enemy fired tanks and the entire range of artillery at the Ukrainian Defense Forces' positions in the areas of the Vremivka, Velyka Novosilka, and Vuhledar settlements. 

  • In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the enemy fired tanks, mortars, barrel and rocket artillery at the Ukrainian troops' positions and civilian infrastructure in the areas of 18 settlements, in particular: Vilne Pole and Novopillia of the Donetsk region; Olhivske, Zaliznychne, Huliaipole, Stepove, and Shcherbaky of the Zaporizhzhia region.

  • In the Kherson direction, the Russian forces didn't stop shelling populated areas along the right bank of the Dnipro River. The civilian infrastructure of 12 settlements was damaged by artillery shelling, in particular: Antonivka, Vesele, Dudchany, Mylove and Zolota Balka of the Kherson region and the city of Kherson itself. There are victims among civilians.

Lawmaker, Secretary of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence, Colonel of Ukraine's Security Service Roman Kostenko noted that heavy firefights are ongoing in the Zaporizhzhia direction.
