Russian invading forces attack in 4 frontline areas. At least 38 combat engagements have taken place there in a day
The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces shared the information in a morning report on July 6.
"Russian troops attack in the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Marinka directions. A total of 38 combat clashes took place over the past day," the statement said.
Russia launches 59 air strikes and 65 MLRS attacks in a day
Over the past day, Russian invading forces launched attacks with 5 Iranian-made Shahed strike UAVs. Ukrainian air defense forces destroyed 2 "kamikaze" drones.
In addition, Russian troops carried out 59 air strikes and 65 MLRS attacks at the positions of Ukrainian troops and settlements.
The situation in different regions of Ukraine
On the northern Ukrainian border with Belarus, the operational situation has not changed. No signs of the formation of enemy offensive groups have been detected. Certain units of the Belarusian Armed Forces are performing tasks in the areas bordering Ukraine.
On the northeastern border with Russia, Russian forces maintain military presence. They launched air strikes on Kharkiv and 2 more settlements. They also launched mortar and artillery attacks, targeting a total of over 35 settlements across Chernihiv, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions.
In the Kupyansk direction, Russians are trying to advance near Novoselivske, Luhansk region. Ukrainian soldiers are holding their ground and have successfully repelled all enemy attacks.
Russian troops also launched air strikes near 2 settlements and shelled 6 settlements across the Kharkiv region.
In the Lyman direction, Russian forces attempted to dislodge Ukrainian troops from their positions near Novoyehorivka, Luhansk region, during their offensive actions, but were unsuccessful. Furthermore, Russian forces carried out an air strike near Bilohorivka, Luhansk region, and shelled over 10 settlements in Luhansk and Donetsk regions with artillery.
In the Bakhmut direction, Ukrainian defenders have successfully repelled attacks in the areas south of Berkhivka and Bohdanivka, Donetsk region. At the same time, they conduct offensive operations south and north of the city of Bakhmut, consolidating their positions.
Russian troops also launched air strikes near 2 settlements and shelled over 10 settlements in the Donetsk region with artillery.
In the Avdiivka direction, Ukrainian defense forces hold back the Russian offensive near Avdiivka. Meanwhile, Russian troops launched air strikes near Avdiivka and Nevelske. They also shelled over 10 settlements with artillery.
In the Marinka direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled all attacks near the town of Marinka. Russian troops launched an air strike near Krasnohorivka, Donetsk region, and shelled over 10 more settlements in the Donetsk region with artillery.
In the Shakhtarsk direction, Russian troops launched air strikes on 4 settlements and shelled over 15 others.
In Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, Russian forces’ priority is preventing the advance of Ukrainian troops.
Russian troops also launched air strikes on 4 settlements and shelled over 40 settlements across Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions.
At the same time, the Ukrainian Defense Forces are conducting offensive operations in the Melitopol and Berdiansk directions. They are actively consolidating their positions, employing artillery fire against identified enemy targets, and carrying out counter-battery operations.
The Ukrainian defense forces hit 4 Russian control points, 4 electronic warfare facilities and an ammunition depot
The aviation of the Ukrainian defense forces carried out 13 strikes on concentrations of Russian personnel over the past day and destroyed 1 anti-aircraft missile system.
In addition, Ukrainian missile and artillery units struck 1 concentration of manpower, weapons and military equipment, 4 control points, 1 ammunition depot, 8 artillery pieces at firing positions, 2 air defense systems, 1 radar station and 4 electronic warfare stations over the past day.
