He said this, speaking on Monday at a meeting of the UN Security Council, informs Espresso.West.

Rau called on the Security Council to "make every possible effort to stop the aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine". He noted that since the beginning of the Polish chairmanship in the OSCE, his goal as chairman was "to seek a compromise and seek dialogue between the parties to the conflict".

However, according to him, "Russia has turned the UN charter into a cruel joke", and its "military operation turned out to be a strategic and tactical failure".

"Instead of preventing unnecessary deaths in its own ranks, the Kremlin began to strike at the population and civilian infrastructure in order to break the spirit of Ukrainians. Which is an act of state terrorism", Zbigniew Rau said.

"I call on Russia to enter into a meaningful and substantive dialogue to find a peaceful solution to the current crisis", he urged Moscow.

According to the head of the OSCE, "Russia's aggression poses a threat to the very existence of the OSCE" and "is incompatible with the principles and commitments of the OSCE", therefore "questions arise not only about the future of this organization, but also about the stability of the rules-based order".
