Case in court: Association of International Hauliers on incident with poured grain near Ukrainian border

Leonid Kostiuchenko, president of Ukraine's Association of International Hauliers, says that lawyers are working to ensure that the Polish side compensates all costs incurred by Ukrainian carriers for the illegal unloading of grain

He said this on Espreso TV.

"Our lawyers have submitted documents to the court about yesterday's incident - the opening of the truck and the illegal unloading of grain. For two months now, since the previous strike by the Poles, we have been engaged in legal discussions with the Polish side, and a law firm has been working. We will definitely impose all sanctions and do everything to compensate our carriers for their expenses," he said.

According to him, any stoppage of road transport means a halt in the economy's import and export movement. Ukrainian carriers lost almost a billion hryvnias during the strikes.

"As for the strike, which began on November 6, 2023, about 30,000 Ukrainian trucks were excluded from the process of import and export transportation. The downtime of one car means about 350, 400 euros of losses per day," Kostiuchenko added.
