Germany transfers the promised 3 Mars II multiple rocket launchers to Ukraine
German Defense Minister Christine Lambrecht says that Berlin has handed over the promised 3 MARS II multiple rocket launchers to Ukraine
This is reported by European Pravda with reference to DPA.
According to Lambrecht, Germany also handed Ukraine 3 self-propelled artillery installations, and the IRIS-T air defense system, as well as 3 armored repair and evacuation vehicles are being prepared for handover.
The minister did not specify when exactly Ukraine received this weapon.
The information about Mars II multiple rocket launchers was confirmed by the head of the Office of the President Andriy Yermak.
"Mars II multiple rocket launchers have already been handed over to Ukraine by our German allies", Yermak wrote on Telegram.
It should be added that the German Mars II multiple rocket launcher is an analogue of the American MLRS. MARS II is designed to destroy concentrations of enemy manpower and equipment, artillery batteries, air defense equipment, command posts and communication nodes, as well as for remote mining of terrain. It consists of a launcher mounted on the tracked chassis of the American M2 Bradley infantry fighting vehicle, unguided 240 mm missiles, fire control equipment and a transport vehicle, Army Inform writes.
