German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius made the announcement in Brussels, where the 9th meeting of the Ramstein is taking place on February 14, Reuters reports.
"We will quickly start our own production of Gepard ammunition at Rheinmetall. I am very happy we have been able to guarantee the delivery of this important part of air defense," Pistorius said.
For reference: The Ukraine Defense Contact Group, or Ramstein Platform (after the air base where the meeting is held), is a meeting of international allies supporting Ukraine's defense in the war against Russia. It currently brings together defense ministers from more than 50 countries.
