Germany to decide on transfer of Leopard tanks to Ukraine next week

Under pressure from European countries, Germany is likely to decide to provide Ukraine with Leopard tanks next week

Bloomberg reported this with reference to informed sources.

“With calls increasing for Berlin to provide heavy tanks, Germany will likely decide to supply the Leopards, according to two officials familiar with the government’s thinking,” the publication wrote.

The media also refers to an unnamed German official who noted that the decision will be announced before the Ramstein meeting. Obviously, Berlin's decision will also be influenced by the fact that the UK is ready to send Challenger 2 battle tanks to Ukraine as part of a joint agreement with other allies, the official said.
