Germany reports "spring package" of aid to Ukraine is on its way

This was stated by German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius before a meeting with his NATO counterparts in Brussels.

"The war will not end in the near future," he said.

According to him, the priority now is to strengthen air defence and supply ammunition. 

The German "spring package" of weapons for Ukraine is on its way, the minister said.

Pistorius was sceptical about the possibility of quickly forming a battalion of modern Leopard 2A6 tanks in Ukraine. So far, only 14 tanks from Germany and three more from Portugal are being prepared. Further deliveries of Leopard tanks by other countries are not currently being discussed, he said.
