Christine Lambrecht, German Defence Minister, called for an investigation into possible war crimes in the city of Izyum in the Kharkiv region, where mass graves were found. The head of the Federal Ministry of Defence stated that she considers it appropriate for the UN to join the investigative activities.
"These terrible crimes must be investigated - ideally by the UN," said Lambrecht, who represents the Social Democratic Party of Germany. Access by the world organisation should be granted as soon as possible to ensure the preservation of evidence.
