Ukraine identifies Russian servicemen killed man during occupation of Kharkiv region

Ukrainian prosecutors have identified three Russian soldiers who shot a security guard of an agricultural enterprise during the occupation of a village in Kharkiv region for making a remark

The press center of the Prosecutor General's Office reports.

It is noted that the suspects were servicemen of the military unit № 54096 of the Russian Armed Forces, natives of the Republic of Dagestan.

According to the investigation, on May 3, 2022, they arrived by car in the temporarily occupied village of Makarove, Bohodukhiv district. At that time, these soldiers were based in the occupied village of Kozacha Lopan.

The soldiers entered an agricultural enterprise and saw a 70-year-old local resident who worked there as a security guard and looked after cattle. The Russians started shooting firearms at the animals side, to which the man made a remark to them, as the shots scared the cattle.

The invaders were outraged, but left the place. Two days later, on May 5, they came back to Makarove and saw the man going to work.

One of the Russian soldiers got out of the car and fired two shots in the back of the local resident. Two other suspects watched to make sure there were no witnesses to the murder.

The victim died on the spot.  After that, they began kicking the victim to check if he was really dead. When they were convinced that the man was dead, they left the scene.

Thus, the Russian servicemen in Ukraine were notified of suspicion in absentia. The issue of putting them on the wanted list is currently being decided.
