Russian-occupied Nova Kakhovka faces doctor and medical equipment shortage — mayor
The mayor of Nova Kakhovka, Volodymyr Kovalenko, notes residents of the city have to travel far outside the town to receive medical services
He shared the information on Espreso TV.
“There is information that the Russians have allegedly run out of passport forms, and the requirements for their immediate replacement are now less stringent. Medical care remains a significant issue—there are almost no doctors in Nova Kakhovka. Residents must travel long distances for even minor medical services, as the Russian invaders have taken all medical equipment. In a town that once had up to 100 general practitioners, only one remains,” Kovalenko emphasized.
The mayor of Nova Kakhovka also added that during the two years of occupation, not a single school or preschool has been open in Nova Kakhovka.
“The occupiers planned to open one classroom at school No. 10, but most of the remaining parents decided not to send their children there, showing common sense. Those who remained in the occupation due to various circumstances mostly went deep into the temporarily occupied territory, mainly in the direction of Henichesk, Arabatska Strilka or the districts of Skadovsk,” Kovalenko noted.
