40% of newly arrived Ukrainian children aged 6 to 10 were enrolled in primary classes. 20% of children from 3 to 5 years old went to kindergarten. 30% will attend classes in high school. These are students from 11 to 14 years old. Only 10% will start studying at lyceums (adolescents aged 15 to 18).
The cities where educational institutions will accept the most Ukrainian students are the Mediterranean resort of Nice (1,515 children), Versailles, located 17 km from Paris (1,291) and Grenoble, a city at the foot of the Alps (1,182). The least popular cities were Amiens (309 children), Besançon (282) and Limoges (268).
The publication notes that typical refugees from Ukraine are mothers and grandmothers with small children. The authorities are trying to settle them all over France. Some plan to settle permanently in this country. Some of them intend to return to the Motherland as soon as there is an opportunity for this. And some have already done it.
