French company signs €36 million Ukraine weapons deal

Verney-Carron, a subsidiary of the French arms manufacturer Cybergun Group, has signed a framework agreement to supply Ukraine with 10,000 assault rifles, 2,000 sniper rifles and 400 grenade launchers worth €36 million."The agreement demonstrates the further strengthening of bilateral relations between France and Ukraine in the field of defense cooperation and the ability of the French defense industry to contribute to this cooperation," the press release said.
It is noted that the first serial transfers are due to take place 6 months after the signing of the contract, and this process will last 10 months.

The first round of negotiations with France on a bilateral agreement on security guarantees was launched on October 19.
