The advisor to the mayor of Mariupol, Petro Andriushchenko, reported the information on Telegram.
According to him, the mercenaries from Kadyrov's units arrived in the village of Urzuf allegedly for a break. However, a dispute arose between these mercenaries and the local military commandant's office.
"They began to tear off each other's shoulder straps and a firefight broke out," Andriushchenko added.
He further reported that besides Russian soldiers, civilians were also caught in the crossfire. As a result of the incident, 7 civilians were killed: 2 teenage girls,4 four boys and 1 woman.
Earlier, RIA-Melitopol had mentioned that Russian soldiers were reportedly killed in the alleged shootout on the evening of August 12, although the exact number of casualties was not specified. It also reported civilian casualties as a result of the incident.
Meanwhile, in the Gomel region, Belarus, a confrontation occurred between Wagner PMC mercenaries who had been deported from Russia and local border guards.
