Fire breaks out at plant servicing Kerch Bridge in Belgorod region

In Borisovka, Belgorod region, Russia, a fire has broken out at an industrial enterprise servicing the Kerch Bridge as a result of shelling

The governor of the Belgorod region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, wrote about this on Telegram. 

“The shells hit the territory of an industrial plant. According to preliminary information, there were no casualties: people were moved to a safe distance. An operational headquarters has been set up. All emergency services have arrived at the scene,” the statement says. 

The fire at the plant was also reported by local public media. According to their version, it was a fire at the Borisovka Bridge Metal Structures Plant, which, among other things, manufactures structures for the Kerch Bridge.

“The сisterns are burning, many firefighters and the Ministry of Emergency Situations have already left. Flames about 50 meters high are visible for many kilometers,” the messages say. 

People also wrote that they heard the sounds of small arms fire, explosions, and that the vibrations caused some windows to break.
