Finland to send Ukraine new EUR 100 million military aid package
Finland will provide Ukraine with the 20th military aid package. The country’s president made the decision on November 17, 2023, on the government’s proposal
This is reported by the Defense Ministry of Finland.
“What is at stake in Ukraine's defense struggle is the security environment outlook on Europe and Finland in the current decade. Together with our allies, we remain unwavering in our commitment to support Ukrainians,” says Minister of Defence Antti Häkkänen.
This constitutes the 20th package of defense equipment provided to Ukraine. Finland estimates the cost of replacing the defense equipment included in this package to be approximately EUR 100 million.
According to the country’s Defense Minister, the cumulative compensation for the 20 defense assistance packages supplied by Finland amounts to EUR 1.5 billion.
The agency explained that for operational reasons, as well as to ensure the safe arrival of the aid at its destination, no further details on the contents of the package, the method of delivery or the schedule are provided.
The decision to provide additional assistance took into account both the needs of Ukraine and the Armed Forces’ resources.
- On October 23, Ukraine received 9 vehicles from the Finnish government: 4 ambulances, 3 fire trucks, a tanker truck, and a car lift.
